Healthy eating does not always have to mean setting strict limits for yourself, valuing an unrealistically thin figure, and absolutely avoiding your favorite foods. Rather, the goal of healthy eating for me is feeling good, strong health, and a happy mood.
It seems that for every expert who tells you that a certain food is beneficial, nowadays you can find another expert on the internet who claims exactly the opposite. For me, it has always been important to listen to my body, cravings, and feelings and make decisions based on that.
Of course, I also want to eat chocolate, potato chips, cakes, and other junk food from time to time. And often I allow myself to do so. But for everyday snacks, I have tried to find healthier alternatives. Through my searches, I finally came across the Njom website and Nick’s bars, which contain no added sugar, palm oil, or gluten. My first thought – too good to be true.
I have been a fan of Njom products for a little over a year now. I discovered them purely through social media and was extremely surprised when I finally got to try their Nick’s bars. Instead of a typical dense protein bar, these taste experiences were much richer and more authentic. I felt like I was eating “real” chocolate – the junk I craved. Mental satisfaction was guaranteed, and at the same time, I could be sure in terms of physical form that I was not harming myself or my health by consuming Njom products.
I still do not practice a completely sugar-free lifestyle. If that suits you, then I am very happy for you. But I like to think that no food is forbidden or that I have to give up something for life. Balance is the key for me. For someone who wants to take the first steps towards healthy eating, I would also recommend starting by reducing portions of unhealthy food and eating less often. When that becomes usual, you can introduce alternatives and reduce junk food from your life. Don’t be too harsh on yourself, set unrealistic goals, or punish yourself if sometimes the choices are not the healthiest.
I would also recommend everyone to try their favorite products from the Njom selection, which will definitely make your healthy eating journey easier.
